Health

Our health activities promote Thailand’s health system national strategy. The first strategy is the development and supporting the capacity of people—the creation of improved capacity for people to have good health.

The second strategy is the creation of equality and equity in society. It focuses on developing mechanisms for service provision and the management of health.

Sexuality and Reproductive Health Rights for Young People

We recognize the importance of creating an enabling environment for young people to know and access their SRHR. Together with local ethnic health CBOs, we are conducting various activities to promote SRHR for young people, including working with community learning centers to adapt it as part of their curriculum.

One of our ongoing work is the development of a comprehensive sexual education (CSE) that is applicable locally. We are adapting different training methodologies to make the delivery more useful, relevant, and acceptable.

MTC Health and Training Facilities

One of the highlights of our supports to MTC is the construction of its health facilities. We maintain a Construction Coordinator who manages the procurement processes for construction needs and timely dealing of issues against contractors, which has been minimal over the years.

Health Cross-border Collaborations

Suwannimit Foundation assists the Thailand Public Health Office in coordinating with ethnic health organizations, Myawaddy hospital, and other health agencies in Myawaddy District. The immediate goal is to manage the spread of infectious diseases on time brought about by the high volume of mobile population. Long term goal includes strengthening the health referrals systems between the two countries.
